Hook & Loop Fasteners

Hook & Loop (commonly known as Touch Tape) is a kind of temporary fastener comprising of 2 layers: the ‘hook’ aspect and the ‘loop’ side. When pushed with each other, the hook aspect latches the loop storing both layers together.  The layers may be easily peeled apart and yet is extremely difficult when pressure is applied parallel towards the plane from the fastener (also known as lateral tensile strength or shear strength).

 Touch Tape’s qualities consist of:
Short-lived bond that can re-attach often
Enhanced strength once the force is parallel to the plane from the fastener
    Bond is water resistant
    Easy to maintain

  Uses
Used extensively in clothes replacing zippers and buttons (sportswear, bags, netball bibs)
    Shoes replacing laces
    Cable ties, straps, watch bands
    Fixing trim to vehicles
    Extra padding for bike helmets
Affixing paper prints and signs, exhibitions and displays
Securer for orthopaedic braces, back braces & other health care support
    Straps in camping goods
